Little kids were running around the park, without any cares at all. Peyson missed that. It'd been nice while it lasted. She felt like she had to grow up too fast, learning to fight, moving out, it was all too fast, she'd only just recently realized. But it was pretty late now, wasn't it? I mean, she was already living on her own, had a job (in a bar, of all possible places), and now she'd [chosen] to take on the responsibility of keeping the streets safe at night. Hell, like they'd ever be truly safe. But she wanted to forget all that today. Today would be fun. Haha..yeah I know, that's funny right? How could it be fun when Peyson had pretty much forgotten what that was like?

Fox was sitting in the park under the shade of a beautiful oak tree. He was engaged in reading Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. But, he had been there for at least 45 minutes and needed to get back to work. He was trying to be accepted into a designing firm and needed to make the best impression possible on his (hopefully) future boss. He got up and brushed his pants off, and slowly started walking, his eyes still scanning across the pages. He probably should have been paying attention because.... he ran into someone. He looked up, "Oh... I'm so sorry!"

Peyson was still immersed in her own thoughts, and was staring off elsewhere without even bothering to take a glance at what was in front of it. Which might've helped because she walked right into somebody. She quickly jumped back from reflex, and looked at him as he apologized. "Oh, no, it's my fault, I'm really sorry." she said sincerely.

"I probably shouldn't have been reading..." He countered, "I'm not the most coordinated fag in the city..." He dog-eared the page and closed the book. "Again... i'm SO sorry..." He went to walk on, but got a rather peculiar headache. A few random objects around where they were standing started to float. Even the book in his hand began hovering slightly above his head.

Peyson started to argue, but then the guy just started to resume walking. So she just turned and took a step forward. She stopped quickly, when she noticed things floating in mid-air. It sure wasn't her, she knew for a fact. Turning around again, she saw the guy she'd bumped into standing there, and he looked like he had a headache. So maybe it's him, she thought to herself. She held out her hand towards the book he'd been holding, and it floated into her hand.

Fox fell to his knees, his hands on his temples. More objects ripped themselves from the people holding them. His head felt as though it was going to burst. Fox let out a couple of cries of pain. A tear fell down his cheek.

Peyson's eyes widened as she dropped the book on the ground, staring down at him. She knelt beside him, and looked around at everything. She looked back to him and moved so she was kneeling in front of him, and reached out so her hands were at each side of his head. No, she didn't know much worth a flip about reading minds, but at this point it was all she could think of. So she held her hands steadily at the sides of his head, and concentrated as hard as she could.

Fox could feel an awkward sensation. Someone was "breaking into his mind." It was such a mess... His head was in such a horrible pain. "Help..." he said inside his head over and over.

Her head started to hurt, but Peyson continued on anyways. She closed her eyes, focusing on the boy..man...boy/man/person's mind. She could hear him saying 'Help' continuously in his head, and she kept trying to look for a way to help him. But she'd have to clear his mind, and in order to do that, she'd have to clear her mind...so she did.

Fox saw the girl inside his mind. "How..." he started. "How are you in here?" he asked. He was completely weirded out, but if she was going to help, he didn't mind. "I.. I don't know what's happening to me..." he said. He was so scared....
