Fear. Run. Death. Run faster. Murderer. Run like the effing wind, bulls-eye! Oliver. How did it happen? What did I become? Jaysen thought to himself. His only friend had demanded him to leave after a rather fearful transformation he had scared off his only friend. I'm a monster. These people are never going to let me stay... I'm waisting my time... he said as he finally reached the gate. It was locked and too high for him to climb. With concentration, he turned himself into a golden retreiver and climbed through the bars, returning to his natural form when he was through. "Home sweet home.... for now..." he said softly as he began his march towards the door.

Riley'd been sitting in a green patch of grass in the front lawn, shaded by a nearby tree. In his hand, he hald a piece of burn bark in which he'd been using to draw on the piece of paper in front of him. With the silence there was, Riley's head shot up. There, walkign towards the front doors, he saw someone with dark but defined features, who looked to be no older than himself. He didn't seem to notice Riley right away, probably because of him being in the shade. Riley continued to watch him curiously, however, didn't say a word.

Jaysen felt as though he was being watched, but at first glance there was no one there. I'm crazy... I'm absolutely mad... he thought to himself. He changed his eyes so that they were more keen. Aha. A boy. A boy his age. Jay deterred from his quest to the door and timidly walked toward the boy. "H-hi... my name's Jaysen... Jaysen Xanthis. I was told that this is a haven for people like... like me..."

Riley was nervous at first, like with everything, as the boy came towards him. But as he spoke, Riley heard his own innocence. So, his own eyes softened greatly. "People like us?" he said semi-rhetorically, looking at him to show him his odd eyes. Then, Riley put on a half-smile and nodded. "I'm Riley."

"It's good to meet you, Riley." Jaysen said as he turned his eyes deep blue. "So... I really am safe here?" he asked quizitively. "Even though I...." he started to say, but couldn't finish it.

Riley nodded again, not going into asking further about the comment he'd stopped. "I was skeptical at first too, but this has turned into home for me..." he said reassuringly.

"Yeah... but i bet you dont become a monster..." Jay said softly, mostly to himself. "It doesn't make sense to me... I can't help it. Whenever I get scared, I just become him..."

((Psshhh, and you didn't let me have Hades!!!))
Riley wasn't quite sure what to say, for he didn't know exactly what Jaysen was talking about. He also got the feeling it was an emotional story. "Well... Nikolai is in charge here, but he's also my friend... he'd be more than willing to help you with anything..." he then paused, his travelling eyes finally meeting back up with Jay's changing ones. "Unless you want to talk about it..."

((Because the thing Jaysen becomes is a self-defence thing... he only does it when he's scared for his life))
"I have the power to change my appearance at will," Jaysen said. "When I get really scared, this beast... or guardian or something is visualized and I become him. When I'm him, I'm strong and I'm brave. But I can't control myself." Jay sat down on the grass and said. "I scared off the only friend I had. He thinks that I really am a monster. The only bad thing is, I'm not so sure that I'm not."

((I know, I know, I'm just bugging you )) Riley listened attentively. Jaysen seemed to have his own bad past, but still, Riley had to ask, "Beast... scared... have you ever... hurt anyone?" Riley's heart felt sympathy for him, so he was distracted, from his drawing at least, as the paper and burnt bark fell to the grass.

"I... I can never remember the entire event," Jay replied, confused. "I don't think I ever have, but I can't say for sure..."
You're such an idiot, Jay! he thought to himself. How can you ever expect to get friends when you constantly mention that monster you become?! If you'd keep your lip zipped you'd be much better off.

"Oh..." he said slowly, then looked up with a warm smile. "No need for worry then!" His voice then took a more joking tone, saying, "I sort of have a monster of my own... my temper..." It was a joke, though a bit the truth.

"What can you do?" Jay asked after chuckling at Riley's joke. "I mean what's your ability?" Jay fought the urge to call it a curse, because Jay viewed it as a curse with benefits that rarely reared themselves.

Riley grinned, flad he'd gotten Jay out of that somber mood. "I can control... well, not control yet, exactly, but I have power over the element of oxygen." he explained. "Which amazingly has a lot of parts to it... from moving objects, to breathing underwater..."

"That's cool..." Jay said. He was evious. But, he wasn't going to show it. "So... who's in charge of this place?"
